If Catalina were a Yoruba girl, from South West, Nigeria, in Africa, perhaps the equivalent of her name would have been KATAKATA. If that was so, then, many people from her tribe would not have been surprised by the vicissitudes that visited her destiny.
Katakata means trouble and trauma. It means confusion and tribulation. It means a whole lot of bad things..., In fact people would have advised her to first change her name in order to effect a destiny change. Jabez had to change his name from 'Sorrow' before his coast was enlarged with abundant joy and blessings. My heart went out to Catalina this morning in her troubles.
Right from her family, her two greatest adversaries were her mom, Adela, and her elder brother, Ricardo. Her next adversary that changed her destiny radically was her ex-boyfriend, Eduardo and her former arch-rival Silvia. Not done yet, her true lover and husband, Sebastian, was made a convert in the school of hatred by other envious foes like Emilia, JessIKA. Her father in-law never trusted her, neither did the friends of Sebastian vouch for her integrity. There was no peace at home nor at the ranch nor on the streets for her. At the end of the day, you can count her truely loyal friends on your fingers: Alicia, Luis, Petra, Kiki, Claudia, Gustavo, Luisa who else?
Gradually Sebastian seem to be creating a space in his heart for reconcilliation with Catlina, but unfortunately, Catalina seems to be shutting her heart's door to a possible reconciliation with him because JessIKA seems to dominatly occupy Sebastian's heart nowadays.

Catalina Or Nothing!
Ricardo began in earnest to earn the role of a Gigolo, "in love" with Silvia. She told Eduardo that she would give the gym to her new 'lover' Ricardo. Eduardo was not bothered one bit. He was more worried and wanted to win back the love of Catalina at any cost.
He declared to his best friend, Luis, that it is either he wins back Catalina or nothing else would matter in his life, as he would prefer to go to his grave regretting the mistake of trading Catalina for Silvia's money.
He went visiting Catalina but met Sebastine there. When he thought that Sebastian would begin another fight with him, Sebastian just smiled sarcastically and advised him to look elswhere for a wife, becaiuse both of them (Eduardo and Sebastian), have lost Catalina to the newly richest man in Mexico city, CARMELO!
Eduardo went into a rage and wanted to fight Sebastian for his disparaging remarks against Catalina. JessIKA came to the rescue by publicly kissing Sebastian, in order to spite Catalina, and they left afterwards for the restaurant. She warned him never to fall in love with Catalina again, that was a hard task for Sebastian, he excused her to be left alone.
With captive Lupe gradually regaining his memory, he became more dangerous to the ambition of Carmelo, but he loved him so much, he did not want to get rid of him at least, not now. He knew that his days were numbered.
Antoniete and Emilia engaged in counter blackmails. Emilia taunted Antonieta about her secret and unacknowledged son, she too replied by saying she would expose Emilia for her secret love affairs with Marcelo.
Patricia, Silvia's close friend warned her against Ricardo whom she accused of double-dating with Martina. Ricardo hotly denied this and almost fought Patricia for attempting to spoil his prospects with Silvia.

Fortunate By Hatred
Carmelo was driven and propelled into fortune by his hatred for Sebastian. With the assumptions that Lupe had died, due to his disappearance, it was officially agreed to open and read his last testament. Everybody but JessIKA and Carmelo were awe-struck about the content, which declared Carmelo as the 'only heir' to all the fortunes of Guadalupe Mendoza.
Eduardo stuck to his gun and told Silvia to forget about their marriage. He opted for divorce, not even the allure of a gym, which Silvia promised to give back to him could do the trick. Silvia was heart-broken. As she came out, Ricardo was waiting to massage her humiliated ego. When she attempted to throw away Ricardo's hands, he advised her that it would be best for her to play along the romantic games with him, because it would make Eduardo to be jealous. She agreed to play along.
Sebastian disbelieved the phony Will in its entirety, he hired another lawyer to challenge the Will. Adela took charge and began to brush up the crude foreman-turned-heir, Carmelo, his mannerisms and dressing underwent a rapid transformation with all the money he now owns. Adela became coach, special adviser and mother-in-law, to the nouveau rich Carmelo hoping one day that Carmelo would now win Catalina over.
When Catalina overheard Sebastian complaining that Carmelo took away his family, his ranch, his father, and even 'his' Catalina. She was happy to know that Sebastian still loved her despite the odds of marrying Carmelo. She confronted him but Sebastian denied it.
Romero became unbearably jealous when he discovered that his girlfriend fell in love, not just with the melody of the Boom Musical group, but she later fell in love with one of the boys in the musical group. He was the one that bought the DVD of the BOOM group for her, he never knew it would turn out negative for him.
