After Don left, Marissa was not happy that Don took side with L.F and she told Carlos so, she said that Don's words were so harsh on Jennifer. Meanwhile, Don was comforting L.F telling her to ignore L.A and Jenny for being so antagonistic to her love for Carlos.

At last, Joaquina, along with Alfredo knew that both L.E and Pedro were deceiving each other. Now they know that L.F knew that Pedro was not her father. Alfredo further revealed to Joaquina that L.F told him that Amelia confessed to L.F just before the tragic accident that killed her that Pedro was not her father.

Just before Rigoberto left L.A's office, she told L.A to stop being harsh with L.F because L.F could be the age-mate of his daughter by Amelia. She warned him that if he should continue to be harsh towards L.F, she would reveal the whole truth to Don Fernando.

Carlos managed to convince L.F to pay personal visit to Marissa because her image has been severely battered by Jennifer there. She agreed and visited Marissa the next day with a gift of the image of Saint Judah, consoling her that she should have faith. Carlos used the opportunity for the first time to reveal to L.F that L.A was never his father but a step-father. He also told her why he and L.A never agree but always quarrelling because the man is the real gold digger.


Armando visited L.A to ask him if he was his father, L.A was afraid of responsibility and complications with Marissa, so he denied Armando the truth of his paternity. He told him to forget about searching for his father and face his future. He offered him a job to be his personal assistance.

Don Fernando complained against the aggression of L.A and Consuelo against L.F. and he said he would fight any of them if they continue to be hostile to L.F. He also told Rigo and Consuelo that he suspect that Marissa was not happy with L.F and Carlos love relationship.

Marissa confessed to Rosario that she was still in love with L.A and was no longer ready to consummate a divorce again. She also called Ordonez and Carlos and told them to stop the divorce proceedings against L.A. She also told them to prepare papers for her to sign so that carlos can take over in her absence, whe she goes for treatment of her diesease.

Don Fernando gave a huge sum of money to L.F, as he had promised Carlos. L.F was so excited and appreciated the money. Don invited L.A and warned him never to insult L.F again.

Jenny tormented Andreina with the fact that she saw L.A in Marissa's bedroom. Andreina was very jealous with the news.

Jenny colluded with L.A planning to trap her with a flimsy offence of financial corruption so that she could be jailed, while she can have her way with Carlos.

Snippets 66: Armando Not Son of Jennifer!

Don Fernando overheard when Consuela was sacking L.F and he protested, saying that all the allegations against her were false. He angrily reinstated her to her back to her job and asked her to lead him right away to visit Marissa whom Carlos Eduardo told him that she was sick at home. On getting to Marisa's house they met Jennifer who was very rude to her, and insulted her. Jenny went to Alert L.A who came out and threaten to throw L.F out of the house. Carlos Eduardo came to her rescue and said the one who should be thrown out of the house is L.A and not his girlfriend Luisa Fernanda. Carlos went to tell Marissa to end L.A out of her room but Marissa said No, because, as a result of her illness, she was not sure if she was ready to continue with the divorce. She demanded that L.A. stop his infidelity with Andreina and she would consider stopping the divorce suit.

Don was so happy seeing Marissa, he also thanked Marisa for helping his steel company with a loan through her Metropolitan Bank, due to the cash crunch induced by the stolen 200,000 Dollars. While there, Carlos Eduardo pleaded with Don to give money to L.F to take care of Pedro and her education, since she doesnt want to take any money from him. Don agreed to give money to L.F for treatment of Pedro.

As Ordonez prepares the legal papers for the loan to Don's steel company, he discovered that Luis Alejandro is the Legal Adviser of the Steel Company. He told Lupe about it and the fact that L.A is acting in collusion with Consuela to defraud L.F of her inheritance. Ordonez told Lupe that he would call Don Fernando's attention to these frauds. Rosario, Caesar and Clarita were worried by the illness of their boss, Carlos explained the nature of the Marissa's sickness to them.

Joaquina indicted Pedro for lying about not knowing his parents. Pedro begged her to find a way to discharge him from the mental hospital. He blamed L.F for his incarceration in the mental home, he also blamed his late wife, Amelia for his misfortunes in life. Sister Joaquina disagreed with him, saying he Pedro was the architect of his own misfortunes in life.

While Jenny continued in her evil schemes to paint L.F black, Don Fernando told her the truth that True love cannot be achieved or overthrown by schemes of men. That, she should accept defeat and leave Carlos and L.F alone to go on with their true love. Jenny was furious and walked out on Don because of the truth.

Armando was no longer sure if he wanted to know his true paternity, Carol had to urge him on to go to L.A's office to talk things over with him.

Rigoberto went to the steel company to seek L.A's legal intervention for the release of her late cousin's pension and gratuity. L.A was not in the office, so she waited for his arrival. She also met Detective Medina and Consuela at the reception. he attended to Rigo's requests and was amazed with the findings of Detective Medina. Medina found out that Armando was the son of Elvira Pereira from Vera Cruz! L.A was stunned by this discovery because, Elvira Pereira was his former mistress of old!

Episode 60: The Dream Battle.

Friday's episode started with a dream by L.F. In the dream, Carlos brought musicians in the night to L.F's door singing love songs about how it is impossible for him to live without L.F's love. She came out and admired the songs and eventually came to embrace and kiss him. He asked to be forgiven by her and she forgave him, ... suddenly, still in the dream, Jennifer appeared and snatched him from her and was taking him away... then she woke up from her dream. She was troubled by this dream but the dream brought her to the reality of her need to reconcile with and forgive Carlos.

Ordonez, a very intelligent and retrospective lawyer has begun to add 2 plus 2 together to get 4. He called Lupe to tell him the truth. He deduced Luisa Fernanda's name from two people most dear to Amelia: 1:- Her teenage boyfriend (LUIS Alejandro) and 2:- her father (Don FERNANDO Alcantara) The LUISA was from LUIS and the FERNANDA from FERNANDO. So he asked Lupe to tell him the truth. Lupe was disarmed by that brilliance, she admitted that L.A was the teenage lover of Amelia, and also the biological father of L.F. Ordonez said a leopard never changes its spots, so L.A did not accept responsibility for the pregnancy of Amelia.

He further expressed his pain in the fact that both Amelia and Pedro cheated and deceived L.F
by not telling her who her real father is when she came of age. Lupe disagreed, saying they protected her and it was not deception. She said that Amelia swore to Pedro before her death that she would never let L.F know that Pedro was not her real father, and that Amelia's memory could only be respected if Ordonez let it be so. Ordonez was not convinced by this conspiratorial secrecy, he vowed to help L.F recover what is her legitimate heritage.

L.A went to Ordonez office to warn him to return the confidential documents which he (Ordonez) 'stole' from his office. Ordonez denied taking anything from the office. L.A warned him that the fact that he had a little misunderstanding with his wife, Marissa does not mean Ordonez should begin to insult him. He assured him that at the tap of his fingers, Matissa would soon come running back into his arms, he promised Ordonez that he would destroy him at the slightest opportunity.

Consuela, solicited the help of L.A to recover the pills that Carlos wanted to test. L.A confirmed to her that he still had the keys to the whole mansion, and since everybody would have gone to church, this is the best time to go there and recover the pills from Carlos room. He boasted that he was not a friend of servants, so he can't go to the wedding of servants of Marissa.

L.A the con man arraged Andreina for Deputy Contreras, when Andreina escaped from the amorous clutches of Contreras with a hot and dirty slap she came back to the apartment to pour her anger on L.A for leaving her alone ... "with that animal" L.A feign ignorance and assured her that he would question the Deputy at the next time he sees him.

Vanessa excitedly told Lucero that her fortune might be changing because Carlos Eduardo does not want to hear anything that has to do with L.F, so she thought that would this might prepare the ground for Carlos to fall in love with her. She got information from Armando that two servants in Carlos house are wedding, that was a good opportunity, she thought to herself to ensnare Carlos with her love again. she made up her mind to go to the wedding without being invited.

Jenny has well-positioned herself for a romantic encounter with Carlos, using the platform of the Caesar-Clarita wedding. She had invited Ricardo, her Adevertising agency photographer to come and cover the wedding. The magistrate that would officiate at the registry had arrived at the mansion and all close relatives were present to witness the registry wedding. Lupe embraced Clarita, her new daughter-in-law for the first time after the registry. Don has gone bonkers, he didn't remember that he told L.F about his missing daughter and grand daughter. When she asked him again about it he went wild, saying that Consuelo was his only daughter, at that poit Consuelo came in and told L.F to go for the wedding she had come to take permission for and leave her father alone.

Episode 59: With A 'Friend' Like You...

The popular adage that "When Cunning man dies, Cunning woman buries him" seem to have failed in this telenovela. Luis Alejandro has refused to die, and has denied the wicked queen of this soap opera, Consuela, the opportunity of conducting funeral rites for him. Wait a minute, that task may fall on Lic Ordonez, the attorney of Marisa who is currently and privily conducting an espionage into the generational crimes of both Consuela and Luis Alejandro.

An agitated Consuela had called L.A to an emergency meeting to intimate him of what Solozano just told her on phone, that a man named Ordonez is on her trail. L.A. confirmed to her that Ordonez was a legal employee of Marissa and that he broke into his office few days ago and stole the confidential file containing information on Amelia and the old version of the original Will of Don Fernando.

Consuela was furious that L.A has not destroyed the old version since she had made the old man to sign a new fictitious one under his current amnesia. L.A. laughed, and said that he did not destroy it as a precaution against possible future 'somersault' by Consuelo, saying: "... with a friend like you, one needs to constantly watch his back". Consuela swore to do everything possible to GET RID OF LIC ORDONEZ!

This means that Lic Ordonez holds the aces now. I just pray that he knows the value of what he is holding and have dabbled into, so that he would not be careless to lose or return it to these villains.

Don Fernando wept for a long time on Luicito's neck. When he recovered his composure, L.F told him that she wished she was his grand daughter, the old man looked at her, and with emotion in his voice, he too said earnestly that he would be happy to have her as his grand daughter! At that point Consuela entered the study and saw them embracing each other. She became fearful and jealous, and started scolding L.F for not having given the drug to him since she left home till now. The old man looked up and scolded Consuela back, saying it was him who refused the drugs, because it always made him drowsy, and not the fault of 'Luicito'. Consuela made him to take the drug and immediately he went into slumber. Consuela led him to his bedroom to sleep.

Vanessa, once again met L.F on the stairs, and as usual, was about spurning her again, but L.F forced her to a chat, saying: "... we can't be fighting for the rest of our lives". Vanny replied and insisted that the fight was triggered by L.F's betrayal of their friendship. She bared her pain of how bad she was hurting too, anytime she snubs L.F. Consuela came downstairs and was uncomfortable by the closeness and reunion of Vanessa and L.F. So, she quickly dispatched L.F to go home, since Don Fernando was sleeping and won't be waking up soon. Her purpose was, of course, to prevent any close association between L.F and anybody in the Don Fernando household.

Only The TRUTH Would Heal Pedro
Meanwhile Rigoberto, having privily collected the address of the mental hospital where Pedro was shackled, from L.F, proceeded to visit him without anybody's knowledge. Pedro was happy with her visit and begged Alfredo to give them privacy to discuss family matters. All the misconception of Pedro were cleared by this old former colleague of Pedro. She told him that Amelia never ran away to meet L.A as presumed by Pedro. She also told him that Don had long forgiven Amelia, and that it was Don who ironically hired L.A. to search for her.

Pedro also confirmed how Amelia died in an accident. He was even surprised that Consuela did not tell them at home. He told her how he came home to break the news to Don but met Consuela. He revealed to her that Consuela even came for the interment. Rigo now told him that much as Don would have loved to know this details, it was not possible to tell him because he has heart problems; any sorrowful news of Amelia's death may cause him heart attack. She was however amused by the irony of destiny that neither L.F nor Don knew each other as granddaughter or grandfather. She said that, even though L.A now works as Legal Adviser to Don, he too did not recognize L.F as his daughter.

At that point, Pedro was miserably relieved and said that was a big burden lifted off his heart. To keep his obsession with falsehood intact, he begged Rigo to swear to him by her life that she would never reveal to L.F that he was not her true biological father. Rigo 'played' along and agreed with him. This Pedro is a pitiable and miserable fellow. Like I always say, his mental illness was not due to depression suffered as a result of Amelia's death, his situation was provoked and remained serviced by his obsession to live with falsehood and hide that falsehood from everyone, including Luisa Fernanda. Unless he embraced the truth, he may never recover from his depressed state of mental anguish.

By the time L.F arrived at the mental hospital, she was told that an old lady friend of Pedro had come to greet him. So she hurried to Pedro's bed with Alfredo and asked Pedro about the old lady, but Pedro asked her not to worry as she wouldn't know the lady. He said the lady was an old friend who helped him with his business in the past. How long would this manipulative lies lasts? For me and for many 'gardeners', Pedro and Luisa Fernanda have fallen into their season of unpopularity; with their attitudes. These two used to be our favorites, Now Pedro hurts himself with obsessive lies and cover-ups, Luisa Fernanda hurts herself with obstinate pride and unbelievable spirit of unforgiveness, while she sought the forgiveness of others like Vanessa.

God-Forsaken Pills & God-Forsaken Daughter!
Rigo was, as usual, eavesdropping on Consuela and L.A when suddenly she heard and anguished cry of Don calling her name- Rigoooobertaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! She jumped up in panic and rushed to Don's room only to find him sprawled on the floor where he had crashed on his way to his bathroom. She called for Carlos and and the household, including L.A to the rescue. After reviving Don, and was asked what caused his fall. He furiously pointed to the drug that Consuela has been secretly administering on him for months now. saying, it was that god-forsaken drug that made him dizzy as always, on his way to the bathroom, he lost his balance and fell because of its drowsy consequence.

After checking that there was no fracture, Carlos wanted to prescribe a sedative for him, but he protested vehemently, saying that he has had enough of sleeping tablets. At that point Carlos requested to see the pills. Consuela jumped up to pick, but Don beat her to it and he handed it over to Carlos. Consuela was fretful and nervous that her sedative tricks may be discovered and exposed. L.A. looked at her with a knowing eye, surely he knows she was behind that mischief. Carlos an ointment to rub the injury of Don. As Consuela made moves to collect the new prescription, Vanessa snatched it from Carlos. Its like everybody now suspect and doubt the pharmaceutical competence of Consuela. Carlos promised to take the "Consuelopills" to the medical laboratory for analysis.

Jenny managed to get Carlos to a restaurant in town for a 'friendly' lunch, as they were sipping their wine, Alfredo came in with L.F for lunch too. L.F was mad with jealousy, she began to tell Alfredo that Carlos was a professional liar, and that the same man was always sad, begging for clemency from her, but now he was very happy and playful with Jennifer, the woman whom he(Carlos) had sworn to her that, he had nothing to do with. The lunch was a ruin for L.F, as she never concentrate to enjoy her meal, but was always spying and looking back, every five minutes at Carlos table at the restaurant.

Jennifer was enjoying herself, because she knew she was driving the wedge further between Carlos and L.F. but her joy was cut short, when he was called for an emergency to rescue a Don who had earlier fallen down by his bathroom at home.
